Charlotte Tilbury Airbrushed Bronzing Powder Review and Swatches

Charlotte Tilbury recently released her new Airbrushed Bronzing Powder in 4 shades. This new bronzer contains hyaluronic acid and is a large compact that is refillable. The Bronzer is supposed to have pore blurring effects and be “smooth as silk”, and “light as air” on the skin. It is also described as a Radiant matte finish.

I picked up the bronzer in the shades: Fair and Medium.

This bronzer applies and blends effortlessly to the skin. I applied it with the fluffy BK Beauty 103 Brush, which is my favorite brush for bronzer, and with the BK Beauty 107 brush for more definition along my cheek bones. This bronzer goes on very light at first but can be built up easily without overdoing it. It’s a very natural looking depth of color that really diffuses into your skin. I do think it makes my skin look smooth and airbrushed and it feels very light and silky. It looks like a mostly matte bronzer on me and did not add or emphasize any texture at all.

I’ve tried this with my MAC Studio Fix Fluid Foundation in shade NW13 and the La Mer Soft Fluid Foundation in shade 02 Ivory. It looks beautiful with both foundations.

The Fair shade (above) has a neutral to warm yellow undertone on my skin. It looks more yellow on my hand than it does on my face. It’s a very light shade on me and I felt like I didn’t see much Bronze color like I had been in the sun, but it did give my face some definition and a light contour. I was hoping I might be able to use this as a large setting powder, but the tone of it is a little too dark, and the undertone is not quite right for a setting powder on me.

The color medium (above) is actually the better bronzer color on my skin. It gives a neutral to warm tone of a brownish bronze that is not too warm or orange on my face at all. It’s actually a very natural color for me. I do feel like I have to build this color up to achieve the depth I like. the color lasts all day on me and looks really good at the end of the day.

I’m hoping they release more shades in this bronzer because I feel like there are huge jumps between the depths/color of each shade and I feel like these shades are running light. I also feel like this is a sheer formula bronzer so that might be why they seem so light.

I think the fair color will be a good option for anybody who has trouble wearing bronzer because it turns really orange on them or because they’re always too dark. I think the medium shade works best on light to medium complexions and anyone a little darker than medium might prefer the tan shade.

It’s really hard to overdo it with these bronzers and I feel like I need to apply more of this than other bronzers I have. I feel like I am getting a large amount of product, but if I have to use a lot more product then I don’t know if this will actually last longer than other bronzers I have.

Swatches of Fair and Medium

Overall, I really do love this bronzer formula and have really enjoyed wearing it. It is so easy to use that I have been reaching for it a lot. It’s also really great to use when I’m in a hurry because I can buff it on fast without having to be very precise in application.

I also love how large the compact is and that it is refillable. The large compact makes it easy to use a big fluffy brush with ease.

I hope to see more refillable compacts from Charlotte Tilbury. I like being able to just get a new pan when I run out and not throw as much things in the trash.

The new Airbrush Bronzing Powder is currently available at and most retailers that carry the brand. They retail for $55.
