This month I have a few skincare empties and a few old things to discard.
Skincare:
DHC Pure Soap x2- I keep one of these by the bathroom sink and one in the shower. It’s unusual that they both run out at the same time like this. I’ve already replaced each and always keep this in my routine.
Tatcha Eye Masks- I had this box of eye masks for a while and it took me a long time to use them up because I normally just opt for the full face sheet mask. I don’t think I would repurchase these because I don’t see much result from using them.
Tatcha Camelia Cleansing Oil– Travel size- I had this one in the shower. I’m still working on finishing the full-size one that I keep at my bathroom sink. I would definitely repurchase this in the future after I use up what I have.
Clarins Eye Makeup Remover Sample– I really liked this. It was very gentle on my eyes and skin with no irritation. I might pick up a full size of this in the future. For now I already have the Neutrogena eye makeup remover and it is much cheaper than this and it works just as well.
Chanel L’Huile Anti-Pollution Cleansing Oil Sample– I really liked this, too. It is a thin consistency but removes all my makeup and has a very light scent. I’m also surprised to find it is a few dollars less than the Tatcha oil ($45 vs. $48). I might get this one next instead of replacing the Tatcha just to change things up a bit. They work about the same on my skin.
La Mer Cleansing Lotion Sample– I got a sample of this at my local counter and really liked it for massaging my skin in the shower. I don’t feel like it really gets my skin as clean as I like, but I think it would be better for skin that is more dry than mine. My skin is staying in the normal/ combo category lately. I don’t plan to purchase the full size of this but I enjoyed trying it.
Makeup:
I didn’t have any makeup empties this month. A lot of makeup items take a long time to finish. I might start sharing what I hit pan on in this section in future posts.
Discards:
I went through my cabinet and found a few things that are really old and expired so I thought I would share them here before I toss them.
SkinCeuticals HA Intensifier– I’m discarding this because it’s really old and expired. I purchased this when they first released this product a few years ago and have never finished it completely because it tends to break me out. I also don’t like how it makes my skin feel sticky. I tried to force myself to finish it a year ago but I stopped using it because of the breakouts and I just don’t enjoy it, honestly. I don’t really see much benefit from using it and I do feel it’s overpriced for the lack of results. In order to achieve the clear skin that I have worked on the past year I no longer make myself use up stuff that I don’t like or that isn’t right for my skin.
SkinCeuticals AOX Eye Gel– this is also very old and I never finished it because it irritated and stung the skin around my eyes every time I used it. This is one of those products I bought because a YouTuber I used to watch raved about it but I feel like I wasted my money on this one. The results I did get were minimal.
Neocutis Micro Eyes Rejuvenating Cream– this is also expired and I didn’t finish this either because it tends to make my eyes water. I bought it because it says it helped the hollows under your eyes and that’s one of the issues a have, but I just didn’t like dealing with the extra watery eyes. It also didn’t seem to provide any immediate results so I would have had to use it long term every day and just couldn’t.
That is all of the empties for this month. I feel like I have made a lot of progress in using up what I already have before I buy more back ups or duplicates of items that can go bad before I can finish them.
