The New Chanel Spring Summer 2022 La Pausa Makeup Collection is inspired by La Pausa, the villa in Roquebrune, France, where Gabrielle Chanel would go and spend time to relax and rest. This makeup Collection is inspired by the warm light that was in harmony with nature in this beautiful place.
This collection really drew me in as soon as I saw it. The colors and the whole vibe really caught my eye. This collection has renewed my excitement for new makeup again because it’s just gorgeous. The color story is very wearable and flattering, and every piece is something I will wear regularly. These types of shades make me wish I was lounging in the sun in the French Riviera.

I purchased most of the collection and provide swatches and my thoughts below.
Les 4 Ombres Mediterraneen Eyeshadow Quad
This eyeshadow quad is stunning. All of the shades are wearable, every day type of colors for me, and just give an easy, golden glow to the eyes. The shades give warmth while still remaining pretty neutral in tone.

The Mediterraneen Eyeshadow Palette includes a taupe brown, sandy gold, golden peach, and an antique golden bronze.

These shades are smooth and shimmery and can be worn sheer or built up for more depth. They blended together easily and wore all day on my eyes without creasing or fading at all.
The collection also includes a liquid eyeshadow in shade Lumiere. It’s a metallic gold shade that looks beautiful, but I decided to skip it since I don’t wear liquid eyeshadows.
Blush Lumiere in Peche Rosee
The Blush Lumiere comes in two shades: Peche Rosee, which is the shade I purchased, and Brun Roussi, a deep rosy brown.

Peche Rosee Blush is a gorgeous Peachy Coral shade with a sheen to it.
It lasts all day on my skin and didn’t accentuate pores or texture at all. It is pigmented but is easy to apply more subtly or can be built up.

Here I did a regular swatch on the left and a more blended out swatch on the right. The color in my hand appears more orange peach than it does once applied to my cheeks. On my cheeks it appears as more of a pinky peach coral color. It’s so pretty on. It’s a gorgeous coral that I think will flatter many skin tones.
Rouge Coco Baume Lip Balms
The Rouge Coco Baume Lip Balms are a new balm formula that comes in 7 shades. I picked up shades My Rose and Dreamy White.

My Rose is a pinky coral shade that goes beautifully with the blush. These balms are sheer in color but are very moisturizing and feel wonderful on the lips. They are less slick in texture than the Rouge Coco Flash lipsticks and not nearly as shiny as those but I feel the color pay off is similar.
Dreamy White is a white that has some shimmer to it which really enhances my natural lip color. It makes the lips look healthy with a hint of shimmer that catches the light.

Here I swatched Dreamy White on the right and I hope you can see how the pretty shimmer is visible in the photo.
Baume Essentiel in Ensoleille
The Baume Essentiel Glow Stick in Ensoleille is a peachy coral shade that has a pink shimmer. This formula gives a very wet look, yet subtle glowy highlight to the skin. This shade is just stunning paired with the blush in Peche Rosee.

These Baume sticks are very sheer and give that glass skin look with a subtle shimmer. I applied it on top of my foundation by swiping my brush on the stick and applying it that way. You can also apply these under foundation as well.
This is the first time I’ve tried the Baume Essentiel and I can see why they are so popular. I really love how this looks on my skin and will likely purchase more colors of these.

Here I did a swatch on the top by just swiping it on my skin and then below that l did a heavier swatch and blended it out more just so you could see the shade more. This makes a pretty topper for the lips as well.
Le Vernis Nail Colors
This collection includes two new Le Vernis Nail Colours in Terra Rossa and Riviera.

Terra Rossa is a rosy terra cotta cream shade. Such a pretty warm neutral.
Riviera is a pale pastel yellow cream. I think this shade will be pretty to wear on toes this spring.

Both shades applied opaque in two coats without streaking. I like how these shades are warm but are still neutral enough to be flattering on my skin tone. These shades are completely unique to my collection.

Final Thoughts
I am in love with this entire Chanel La Pausa Spring Summer 2022 Makeup Collection. Each and every piece is wearable and can be used for an effortless and elegant every day spring look. I love the whole vacation vibe I get from this collection and wearing it just puts me in a good mood.
I was so excited for this collection and everything lived up to my expectations. The quality is wonderful and I think Chanel did a great job with this collection.

I can’t end the review of the La Pausa Collection without mentioning this gem of a fragrance: Les Exclusifs La Pausa Eau de Parfum. I am surprised it wasn’t promoted with this collection since it is named after the same place that was so important to Coco Chanel. It is a gorgeous scent with notes of powdery iris, pink pepper, and vetiver. It’s a delicate and relaxing scent that will go wonderfully with the mood of this makeup collection.
