Escada Summer Festival Eau de Toilette Review

Escada’s newest limited edition summer fragrance is Summer Festival Eau de Toilette. It’s a refreshing Fruity Floral fragrance perfect for warm weather and happy vibes.

As soon as I see their newest fragrance become available I always just go ahead and order it as a blind buy, and I always love it.

Every year Escada releases a limited edition fragrance that tends to be fruity and sweet and all about fun in the sun. I have been collecting these limited edition fragrances ever since I first discovered Escada in 2000. Escada Sentiment and Lily Chic were the first two fragrances I ever smelled by them, as I was shopping at the mall one day. The Escada summer fragrances always hold a special place in my heart because I have so many memories and positive scent associations tied to so many of the Escada fragrances that I have worn over the years. They still remind me of good times of my carefree youth.

Top Notes: Ice and Cherry Blossom

Middle Notes: Green Mandarin and Jasmine Sambac

Base Notes: Sandalwood

Escada Summer Festival is described as fresh, fruity, and floral and I feel like it is exactly this.

The opening of this fragrance starts off with a burst of tarte fruit, but I smell sweet fruits right away also. There is a light floral quality to the opening. I smell a little bit of watermelon or a watery type quality to the opening that makes The fruit and the floral smell lighter and fresher. I thought ice was an interesting top note listed in this fragrance but I do see how this fragrance conveys an icy type of effect.

I am immediately transported to the middle of summer, hanging out buy a pool on a hot day, full of sunshine at a beautiful resort. I’m on vacation with a delicious fruity cocktail in my hand, and I can hear the seagulls calling over the sound of ocean waves, and a group of people laughing in the background.

There’s a stickiness to the scent like I spilled some of my fruity drink on the ground next to me and can still smell it heating up in the sun. For me this entire mood is set in the first five minutes of smelling this lively fragrance.

Right now it is mostly a fruity fragrance with some floral notes in the background. The jasmine and cherry blossom is well blended together with the fruit so I don’t pick out a particular flower.

After a little bit of time the initial burst of fruit calms down a little bit and the fragrance becomes a little bit more watery and a little more floral. It does seem to have a cocktail drink quality to the watery effervescence that it has. It reminds me of one of my all-time favorite Escada fragrances from a few years ago, Sorbetto Rosso, which was mostly a watermelon, watery type of fruity fragrance. The wateriness of Summer Festival really reminds me of that. To me, it feels like a blend between Sorbetto Rosso, Fruit Punch and Rockin Rio, all of which were my all time Escada favorites.

After a few hours the scent lightens up a bit and becomes more airy a little more watery, but stays a balanced fruity floral until later in the day when the sandalwood comes through more. I also smell a hint of musk in the background of the dry down, but it stays light and refreshing. The floral moves to the background and more of the tart fruit reappears with the sandalwood. The dry down is mostly a skin scent on me, and I love it.

This year‘s fragrance is not as heavy in the base notes as some previous years’ fragrances were. This one stays pretty light and fresh. It never feels overly sweet to me, and the sweetness calms down as the day goes on.

It smells so good and is an immediate mood lifter. I actually began testing this on a day that I was feeling kind of run down and tired, and I immediately started feeling better after smelling this. This fragrance brings back so many good memories and scent associations, because it reminds me of some of my favorite Escada Fragrances from the past. It reminds me of the carefree days of my youth, parties, and just enjoying the summer fun.

Final Thoughts

I love this fragrance, I love the memories it brings back to me, and I love how this fragrance reminds me of some of my favorites they’ve done in the past. It smells tropical, fruity, but light and energizing all at the same time. I’m loving how I feel every time I wear it.

If you like fruity summer scents, then you can’t go wrong with this fragrance. It’s light hearted and uplifting. I can’t imagine this fragrance not being a crowdpleaser.

Escada Summer Festival is limited edition and comes in a few sizes, including a small rollerball. The largest size retails for $84, so these fragrances are more affordable than a lot of the perfumes I love. All sizes are currently available at Ulta.com.
