I recently picked up three of the new Dior Addict Stellar Lip Glosses. Dior seems to reformulate and re-launch their lip glosses quite often, but I really like the range of shades and the formula of this newest collection. This new formula is very smooth feeling on the lips and is not sticky at all. It feels a little more balmy in texture than previous Dior glosses. They also have a new larger double foot applicator that reminds me of the Chanel Rouge Coco Gloss applicator. I really like how it hugs the lips.
The colors I picked up are more sheer once applied on the lips than they look in the tubes. They also have a warm vanilla sugar type of fragrance to them. The scent is pretty light and it’s not one that I can taste.
The shades I purchased are:
465 Shock– a pink with pink and gold shimmer. This color has noticeable fine glitter when applied to the lips, and it gives a nice sparkle effect. I don’t feel the glitter particles when I press my lips together and this one lasts the longest of the three when worn.
553 Princess– this shade is a sheer medium pink with fine silver and pink shimmer. This one has a finer shimmer and might be my favorite of the three. I think this one looks really pretty on its own on bare lips and layered over light pink or nude lipsticks.
354 Diorsolight– a sheer peachy nude with a hint of pink. It is a sheer milky cream gloss. When I ordered it online, the swatch looked like it had shimmer in it but it does not. This color is much more white and milky when applied to my bare lips than I expected. It reminds me of a slightly peachier version of Chanel Icing Rouge Coco Gloss.
Here are swatches of (left to right) Shock, Princess, and Diorsolight. These swatches show two layers of gloss built up to show the color better.
When applied on bare lips Shock and Princess look very similar to each other. Shock has a little bit larger shimmer particles. When applied over a nude lipstick Shock appears slightly more pink. Both add nice dimension and shine applied over a lipstick or worn alone. I really like both of them and can see myself wearing them a lot, but I really don’t think you need both colors.
Diorsolight is best layered on top of a nude lipstick for me. Layering it helps tone down the milkiness and gives a nice shine and dimension over a lipstick.
Overall, I really like the formula of these lip glosses better than any of the previous formulas I’ve tried of the Dior lip glosses. They really did improve the way the formula feels on the lips and I quite like the scent of these.
These retail for $30 and are available at Dior.com, Nordstrom and everywhere Dior is sold online.
