Tom Ford Badass Extreme Eye Shadow Quad Review and Swatches

As soon as I saw this quad in a sneak peek it instantly called my name because of the intense Smokey shades. I absolutely love to wear all types of Smokey eyes and this quad looked like a gorgeous night out option.

Honestly, I didn’t really prefer the name, but after playing with this quad, I can appreciate the vibe they were conveying with this name and color selection. And it does call to mind a badass rocker girl type of vibe. Just add a moto jacket, over almost any dress, wear this quad with an intense shimmery Smokey eye, some nude lipstick, and I would feel ready to go to a metal/rock concert like I always did in years past. I kind of love the nostalgia this quad brings back to me. I might have to find a good concert to bring back my old vibe.

This eye quad contains four shades in the extreme version of the wet dry formula that I love. And extreme is exactly how I would describe the color pay off in this quad.

These shadows feel almost wet to the touch and have intense pigmentation on my skin. They did not fade on me and I had to use cleansing oil just to remove the swatches on my hand. I always use cleansing oil to remove eye makeup.

The colors include a mauvey- peachy sand color, a smokey plum purple, a gunmetal with multicolor sparkle, and a shiny black with rainbow sparkle.

I have read many mixed reviews of this quad and tried to give myself plenty of time to form my own opinion, but I have to say I didn’t have any issue with pigmentation or the purple color showing as true to color on my skin tone. I can see the smokey base in it, but it still looks like a plum purple on my eyes. While the two darkest shades had a little fall out when applying initially, I had better luck with a flatter eye brush. I did not have fall out on my face while wearing them throughout the day.

Overall, I really like this quad and will mostly wear the darkest shades on nights out and evening looks because of the sparkles. The sandy color and plum color could be incorporated with other quads or shadows for many day to day looks. I’m really glad I picked this up.

The Tom Ford Badass Eye Color Quad is limited edition, retails for $88, and is still available at several retailers.
