I finished up a lot of skincare the past six months and am making some changes to my skincare routine so keep reading to see what I used up and if I would repurchase. I will be doing a new summer skincare routine post soon.
Skincare Empties
I was very happy to finish so many skincare items this past six months. If you have been following my blog for a while, you might be surprised by some of the products that I have decided not to repurchase.
❌= would not repurchase
✅= would repurchase
🤔= maybe, I might repurchase again.

La Mer Micellar Water–❌ I have used several bottles of this and I like how it cleans my skin, but I’ve gotten really tired of this scent which is in the La Mer body products and some of the face products. This scent is strong and I just don’t like the smell anymore. I also realized this scent can trigger my migraines. I’ve switched to fragrance free Micellar water by Garnier for now.
La Mer Matte Lotion-❌ I enjoyed using this lotion for the past three summers in the mornings, but I would not repurchase, mostly because of the price. I originally bought this on sale and would not pay full price. It does keep my skin matte for a couple hours, but after that it gets oily again quickly like any other light moisturizer. I feel like the results are not there to continue to repurchase it. The price has also increased twice since I originally bought this and that is just really off putting. I have been on the search for a new daytime summer moisturizer and am just as happy new ones I’ve discovered.
La Mer Replenishing Oil Exfoliator-✅ I am continuing to use this as I have one more backup left. After I finish that, I might try something else, but it is still in my current routine for now.
La Mer Cleansing Foam-✅ I am still using this cleanser every morning.
La Mer Hydrating Serum-❌ I had to make myself finish this serum as it’s just a fail for me. I liked it in the beginning, but for the price, there are better hydrating serums out there and I finally realized this was clogging my pores like crazy!! I didn’t know it was this product until I stopped using it completely. The improvement in my pores since I quit using this is amazing. I would not recommend this product for that reason and even if it didn’t clog my pores, it’s over priced for the results on my skin.
La Mer Revitalizing Mask– 🤔 I enjoyed using this mask but, I don’t feel it is necessary in my skincare routine. It is hydrating and my skin looks nice, but It has that same fragrance as the Micellar water so the scent gets on my nerves now and after using a whole tube I’m just kind of wanting something new. So this is a maybe to repurchase in the future if it is on a good sale.
La Mer Soft Cream Deluze Sample-✅ I still use the soft cream as my day cream in winter and I still have a jar I will use once winter comes around. I’m currently using lighter moisturizers for summer.
La Mer Firming Mask-❌ I would not repurchase this because you get so little for the price, which has also gone up a lot since I last purchase this. It is a nice mask and I have used a few of these small sizes jars in the past few years and enjoy them, but I’m moving on from this and am in the mood for something new.
La Mer Moisturizing Creme-✅ this is still, by far, my favorite La Mer product. I still use this at night time in the fall and winter and am still working on one of my Blue Heart jars.
La Mer Cool Gel Cream Sample-❌ I would not repurchase this as it just seems to make my skin too oily in the day time. I have used a few of these small jars but this isn’t my favorite formula by La Mer.

La Mer Tonic–❌ I would not repurchase this toner because I feel like it is too expensive for what it is. It’s just a basic toner and I don’t really feel like it made much difference if I used it or not. I’m currently not using toners at all and I had to make myself finish it.
La Mer Micellar Water–❌ Same as above, just a larger bottle. I would not repurchase since I’m tired of the scent.
La Mer Cleansing Gel– ❌ I prefer the cleansing foam over this gel cleanser. It feels like it is harder to completely rinse this off my skin and it has a strong scent that gets annoying so I would not repurchase.
La Mer Cleansing Oil- ✅ I do still enjoy this cleansing oil and have another one I’m currently using.
La Mer Body Refiner- this is discontinued so can’t repurchase anyway, but I wouldn’t buy it again because it leaves a mess in the shower and doesn’t exfoliate as well as some other body scrubs I am currently using by Tree Hut and Victoria’s Secret.

La Mer Cleansing Foam 2x travel size– ✅ I enjoy the cleansing foam and will continue to use. I had these so wanted to use them up.
Cerave Pm Lotion–✅ I tried this sample out and really like this a lot. Feels very nice and nourishing for my skin, has good ingredients, and is fragrance free. I love it and bought a full size. It’s also very affordable. I’m currently using this as one of my my day moisturizers.
Aquaphor– ✅I use this as my lip balm and love it and have a few backups.
Neutrogena Oil Free Eye Makeup Remover– ✅ this is still a staple products for me. I thing removes my mascara as well as this. I always have it on hand.
La Mer Minis- Micellar waters– ❌, Eye Balm and Eye Concentrate– ❌ I discussed the Micellar water above and I would also not purchase the full sized La Mer eye creams because I just don’t love the formulas of these. They both feel too heavy for me, and I think there are better eye creams by Skinceuticals that give better results than these.
Skinceuticals Salymarin CF sample-✅ I got this sample with an order I placed from LovelySkin and I love this! It’s a vitamin C I can use every day without irritation. It’s helped with hyperpigmentation on my cheeks and make my skin brighter and clear. I purchased the full size and am currently using it every morning. Love it!
Chanel Sublimage Samples– Masque-🤔, L’essence lumiere-❌, Cleansing water-❌, La Lotion Lumiere- ✅. I wouldn’t pay the full price for the cleansing water, serums or creams, but I did purchase a full-size lotion Lumiere and like it because it has glycolic acid and is very gentle on the skin. The Essence Lumiere actually worsened some hyperpigmentation on my cheeks and seemed to be drying on my skin. I think it’s due to the heavy fragrance in these products and I would not recommend if you tend to get hyperpigmentation.
Chantecaille Bio Lifting Mask- ❌ this was a completely fail for me. It provided no results at all. In fact, my skin looked more dull after using it. I would not recommend.
Makeup Empties

Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Whiz in Taupe- ✅ I love this color and it my favorite product for my brows.
Covergirl Lash Blast Mascara– ✅ I’ve used many tubes of this over the years and it’s still one of my favorite drugstore mascaras.
Dior Iconic Overcurl Mascara- full size and mini- ✅ still in my top two favorite mascaras. I will continue to repurchase.
Dior lash primer– mini- ❌ I’m just not a fan of lash primers and wouldn’t purchase because I don’t see much difference when using these. I don’t like putting the extra layers on my lashes because it makes my lashes feel heavy.
Dior Pump n Volume Mascara mini- ✅ I really liked this mascara and would repurchase.
Hair Care Empties

Colleen Rothschild Hair Mask-🤔 I really like this mask, but it was out of stock so long I kind of moved on. I might repurchase again on sale, but I’m not as inclined to make a product a holy grail item in my routine if I have trouble getting it when I need it. Still love how it makes my hair feel and love the scent.
Garnier Fructis Coconut Hair Mask– ✅ I loved this mask and will definitely repurchase. It was very moisturizing and made my hair look great.
Raw Sugar Hair Mask Mini- ✅ I really liked this mask and will definitely purchase a full size when I run out of some other masks I’m using. Love the scent and how thick and hydrating this is.
Biolage Conditioning Balm– ✅ this is a staple conditioner for me and I always keep a couple around. Love it and have been using it for years.

Pantene Moisture Renewal Conditioner– ✅ I’ve used this conditioner longer than any. It’s a staple and I always have this in my shower.
Biolage Hydrasource Shampoo– ✅ my favorite shampoo ever. Always have this in my shower.
That is everything I used up this past six months. Did you spot any favorites? I’m definitely surprised I’m moving away from some of the La Mer products I’ve used for a while, but I am tired of spending so much on some of these and am looking for more results in my skin than some of these provide for me now.

Also I always purchase all of my products myself. I don’t ever receive anything for free or any PR, so my opinions are based on spending my own money and using the products completely myself.
