The Les Chaines D’Or De Chanel Holiday 2020 Makeup Collection is one of the top makeup collections that I have been most excited about from the holiday releases this year.
The collection features a gorgeous illuminating blush, four single eye shadows, four lipsticks, and a nail color. I picked up the blush, two eye shadows, and three of the lipsticks.
The collection includes:
- Les Chaines De Chanel Illuminating Blush– ($70) a warm rusty rose shade
- Four Ombré Premiere Powder Eye Shadows ($36):
- Or Blanc– white gold
- Or Antique– yellow gold
- Cuir Brun– smokey deep brown
- Cuivre Rose– a pink rose
- Four Rouge Allure Luninous Intense Lipsticks ($45):
- 107 Or Beige– a warm Beige
- 117 Or Cuivre– a plum red
- 127 Rouge D’Or– a true red
- 137 Pourpre D’Or– a deeper eggplant red
- Nail Color In Chaine D’Or– a metallic gold
I was a little intimidated about this blush before I tried it on because it looked like it might be too dark for me, but I have to say it is really lovely on the skin. I can wear this alone as my blush and get a gorgeous glow so I don’t need to wear a separate highlighter with this. It shows up on my skin as a warm rusty rose type shade that is perfect for fall and winter makeup looks. I like applying this with my MAC 131 Duo fiber brush for a more sheer application. You can achieve more color with a denser brush, but this is all I need. The color lasts all day on me, as Chanel blushes always do. Their long wear and stay-true color make Chanel blushes my top favorite blush formulas.
The color of Les Chaines De Chanel Blush appears slightly different, in the pan, depending on the lighting. Here it is shown in a different room on a cloudy day.
The color appears slightly more warm on my hand than in my cheeks.
The new Ombré Premiere Single Shadows are stunning on the eyes for a soft and sophisticated eye look that is appropriate for daytime and wearing to work. I picked up two of the shades in Cuir Brun and Or Blanc. The shadows can be applied more sheer or easily be built up for more intensity, and I love that the shimmer is not over the top.
I created a look using Talpa single shadow, from the permanent collection, all over the lid. Then I applied Cuir Brun to the the outer V and smoked it up into my crease, and used Or Blanc on the inner third of my lid. I really loved how this look turned out and it lasted all day on my lids with no creasing and no fallout. This formula is really good quality and I’m very happy that these shades are so wearable.
The Rouge Allure Luminous Intense Lipsticks are my most favorite lipstick formula because they are creamy, long wearing, and the colors just look so pretty on the lips. They have great pigmentation in one layer and the metal click packaging is gorgeous and feels luxurious.
I love that these new shades have subtle gold shimmer in them that does not appear like too much on the lips. Or Beige is a great every day Nude shade and the reds are such pretty shades that liven up my complexion.
The pieces that I skipped in this collection were all so beautiful, and the only reason I didn’t purchase them was because they were not shades I wear. I know I don’t look great with those pink/red or overly yellow shades on my skin tone so I passed on them.
Overall, I am very happy with all of the products I picked up from this collection and know I will get a lot of use from them. I just feel that these are such classy shades and formulas.
