Chanel just released the Spring Makeup Collection and I was really excited for the whole watery mermaid theme this time.
This collections seems reminiscent of the Le Blanc collections with the iridescent shades and lighter colors and I heard they stopped making a Le Blanc collection but I feel like this must have replaced it.
Rivera Eyeshadow Palette
Rivera Eyeshadow Palette contains a sparkly white with gold shimmer, a light blue with shimmer, a light beige with gold shimmer, and a medium neutral brown that is more of a semi matte.
This eyeshadow palette goes on pretty sheer. It offers a very natural but shimmery look. Even the blue isn’t very vibrant so it is more wearable than you might expect if you see someone who avoids blue eyeshadows.
I feel like this palette swatches more intensely on my hand than on my eyes, but I love the look that I made with this palette and also feel like these shades work well with my other Chanel palettes.
Coral Treasure Eye Shadow Palette
I picked this Coral Treasure eyeshadow palette up a little bit after my initial order after seeing it in person. I love the shimmer and iridescent shift in the light pink color so I decided to add it to my collection.
The warmer tones are also quite flattering. These give a pretty sunrise look.
Roses Coquillage Blush Duo
The Roses Coquillage blush duo is a soft matte powder formula that has good pigmentation and looks really flattering on the skin. It provides a little blurring effect for any pores or texture, too. I really like this formula and color. You can wear the shades separately or blended together.
Highlighters
Lumiere De L’Ocean highlighter has a pretty blue iridescence that is so pretty in person. It is not quite your every day highlighter color but since I have cool toned skin I feel like it goes with my complexion pretty well. I can see many people finding this color a little more of a party look than every day wearable.
Baume Essentiel
The Baume Essentiel Highlighter stick is in shade Mermaid Glow and I think this is my favorite shade I have in the Baume Essentiel. It’s gives such a pretty ethereal glow to the skin.
It is also very pretty used as a lip balm.
Lipstick
The Rouge Allure Laque liquid lipstick in 92 Sea Shell is a pretty mid toned neutral nude shade on me. It compliments all of the shades in the collection quite nicely. The formula is smooth and buttery and dries to a natural finish.
Nail Polish
Le Vernis Nail Colors complete the collection with a pretty ocean blue shimmer in 179 Lagune and a warm terracotta peach cream in 177 Sun Drop.
Final Thoughts
I really enjoy the fun colors in this collection and have worn each of the products quite a bit over the spring and summer. I like the mermaid ethereal vibe of the shades for summer and like that Chanel did something more unique for their brand with this collection. Overall I highly recommend checking out the collection if you are called to these shades.
